At 12:01am Monday, December 4, the site goes live and the clock starts ticking. Board members, staff, and WERA producers alike will be working hard to make WERA’s first-ever fund drive a roaring success. Listen in and pony up!

WERA is Arlington’s only community radio station. With more than 80 programs currently on the air, the station has established itself as an important asset in Arlington’s diverse community. Operations manager Lauree McArdle describes the drive as “scary but exciting” and “a great way for us to get to know our listeners better.”
The drive runs December 4-10 and will feature some fun surprises. Tom Wallace of OAF Music [https://www.mixcloud.com/OAFMusic/] and Leanne Astin of the Mixing Bowl are teaming up in the OAF Music slot (Mondays at 7:00 pm) to do a live mash-up show, ”The OAFing Bowl” or “The Mixing OAF”—they aren’t sure yet!
Tom’s and Leanne’s shows are usually recorded in advance, but they’re stepping out on the high wire to challenge each other on the fly to come up with songs related in some way to the song previously chosen by the other host. A coin toss gets it going to determine who selects the first song, and then they're off. “It's going to be tons of fun,” Tom says, “and we're going for a full 90 minutes—a half-hour longer than the usual OAF Music. Tune in!”
Donations are tax deductible and will support station operations. Donors can choose from a selection of “premiums” as recognition of their generosity, including window clings, T-shirts, reusable shopping bags, and even an AIM membership.
