Building a station is hard work. Keeping that station on the air also has its challenges, mainly in the form of maintaining consistent and interesting programming. We could just throw music into our automation and have it crank out a never-ending playlist over the air. But, Arlington Independent Media and WERA-LP were granted a construction permit for a community radio station; we're building Radio Arlington.
The bulk of our programming comes from Arlington / DMV residents, as required by an LPFM licensee. But, even with the ~60 applications that have been submitted, we want (and need) more.
If you're interested in hosting a program on WERA-LP, please do the following:
Enroll in and complete "Introduction to Community Media" and "On-air Radio Broadcast Training."
Complete and submit a programming application.
The Program Advisory and Review Council (PARC) will review your application and notify you upon approval.*
Fill out some exciting paperwork on policies to finalize your time-slot.
You're on the air!
*If your program application is not approved by the PARC, you are encouraged to build upon your idea and resubmit your application. You can also apply for a different program, if you would like.
